Frequently asked questions

Is my data uploaded?
No. Your contacts never leave your device. The numbers, names and files are read and cleaned inside your own browser. Nothing is uploaded to our server and nothing is saved, so we never see your list. The page has no server address that accepts files, and the browser is told not to send data anywhere else. Load this page, turn off your internet, and try it. It still works.
Which number formats does it fix?
Spaces, dashes, dots and brackets are removed and the country code is added. For India, 98250 12345, 09825012345, 919825012345, +91 98250-12345 and +91 (98250) 12345 all become +91 98250 12345. Labels like “Mob:” and wa.me links are understood too.
How are duplicates found?
Every number is first written in one standard format, then compared. So 98250 12345, +919825012345 and 09825012345 count as one contact. You choose which name to keep: the first name found, the longest name, or all names merged (Ramesh / Ramesh Tiles).
Which countries are supported?
All countries. Pick the default country for numbers written without a country code (India is selected already). Numbers that start with + or 00, like +971 50 123 4567 or 0044 7400 123456, are recognised automatically, whatever the default country.
Which files can I upload?
Excel (.xlsx and .xls), CSV and VCF contact files from Android or iPhone. For Excel and CSV you pick the column with the numbers and, if you like, the column with the names. You can also simply paste numbers, one per line.
How do I import the VCF into my phone?
Android: send the .vcf file to your phone (WhatsApp, email or USB), open it and choose Contacts, or open Contacts › Settings › Import › .vcf file. iPhone: open the .vcf file from Mail, Files or WhatsApp and tap “Add All Contacts”. Use the name prefix (for example “Morbi Expo 2026 – ”) to keep the new contacts together.
Can I use the list for WhatsApp broadcast lists?
Yes. Save the VCF to your phone so the contacts appear in WhatsApp, then add them to a broadcast list. The “WhatsApp format” download gives the numbers as digits with the country code (919825012345), which most WhatsApp tools and bulk senders expect, with optional wa.me chat links. Remember: broadcast messages only reach people who have saved your number.
What happens to invalid numbers?
They are left out of the clean list and shown in the Invalid tab with the reason: empty, too short, too long, unknown country code, not a valid number for the country, or not a phone number. The full Excel report lists them too, so you can fix them.
What if I have more than 300 contacts?
The free version cleans the first 300 rows of each list. For a longer list we still show how many duplicates and invalid numbers it roughly has. You can split the list into parts of 300, or contact us and we’ll clean your full list for you, once or regularly.
Can I clean my Google or phone contacts?
Yes. In Google Contacts choose Export and pick Google CSV or vCard, or export a .vcf file from your phone’s Contacts app, then upload it here. After cleaning, import the clean VCF. Delete the old contacts first if you don’t want them twice.
